An apple pie moment

When we were kids, we always had chores to do. Tina and I were doing the dinner dishes. One washed, one dried. Grandmother had sent over a beautiful apple pie. It was sitting on the kitchen table with a few slices already taken out. Tina and I decided to take a tiny sliver out of the pie. It would never be noticed, we thought. Well, that would have been true if we hadn't done it about 6 or 7 times. Alll these "slivers" added up to a rather large slice. We couldn't figure out at first how Mom figured out that we had eaten a slice of that pie. We learned our lesson.
